Okay, so, by now, you've probably heard of Ben Brantley's less-than-sweet review of PARADE in the all-important New York Times. In regards to that review, I would like to paraphrase the South Park movie: "F*** Ben Brantley! F*** him right in the ear!" And that's that. Just to show that not everybody hated PARADE, and that most critics rather liked it, here are quite a few other reviews that say some very nice things about the show. PARADE is not a perfect piece (nothing is), and there are some criticisms in these reviews that are quite valid. Still, the work of art as a whole is magnificent, and the show ranks up there with West Side Story, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and Rent as one of the best musicals of this half of the century.
